Think you have what it takes to catch a greased pig? The Greased Pig Scramble is open to Washington County 4-H and FFA members, ages 8 - 13 years old. The event will take place on Saturday, September 20, 2025, following the Youth Hay Hauling Contest at 6 p.m. Cash prizes are up for grabs!

2025 Greased Pig Scramble Form
1. The Washington County Fair Association will not be responsible for any accidents connected with this scramble.
2. All participants must be a member of Washington County 4-H or FFA Club.
3. Age qualifications: Junior (8 to 10 years); Senior (11 to 13 years)
4. There will be four scrambles: Junior, 1 Boy, 1 Girl; Senior, 1 Boy, 1 Girl
5. Each contestant will attempt to catch one of the pigs. The contestant catching a pig is required to pull or carry the pig to the center pen without aid or assistance from anyone else. Referees will declare the winners.
6. If a contestant has hold of a pig, no other contestant will be allowed to touch the pig unless it breaks away.
7. If two or more contestants catch the same pig, they will be ordered by the referee to release the pig.
8. Poor sportsmanship will disqualify any contestant automatically and undue roughness will not be tolerated by the referee.
9. Scramble will be refereed by a group of not less than four referees.
10. Contestants must submit a minor’s release to the Fair by
September 12, 2025
. Release forms can be dropped off at the Fair Office or emailed to madalynn@washingtoncofair.com.
11. A cash prize will be issued to each of the five successful contestants in each scramble. The order in which contestants deposit the pigs in the center pen will determine placings:
1st - $75.00
2nd - $50.00
3rd - $45.00
4th - $40.00
5th - $35.00
